Alayna was only sixteen. She could not deal with the situation she was in. It seemed like her whole life was crumbling down around her, Shane standing at the center of this whole mess. Alayna stepped through the threshhold of his apartment, scared of what he would say. Shane had been known to beat up on Alayna before, but Alayna loved him she could never leave him regardless of the pains he put her through. That however was nothing to the pain he was about to put her through now. The handsome italian drunkard smiled when he saw Alayna and began talking to her in the slurr that she knew only too well. This was definetely not the time to tell him that she was pregnant, but before she could say anything Shane noticed the tear stains on her face. He demanded to know what was wrong and pushed her roughly up against a wall. Alayna began to cry but did not hesitate to tell him. That was her first mistake, she should never have told him. Shane started yelling at her, cussing up a storm. It was when the beating started that Alayna could forever be changed. Shane slamed Alayna up against a mirror and began slicing her with the shards that fell, a baseball bat was next. Shane had never wanted her, and he was going to make damn sure that she did not have the baby, whether it killed her to or not.
Alayna was flat out exhausted. She had just arrived from the airport, driving four hours with two angry horses in the back. Tonto had been a good boy, and patient during the flight but as soon as he realized he was on the ground the normally docile gelding became antsy and irritated. Tristan had to be sedated for the flight but as soon as they hit the ground it was all gone, now he along with his partner were kicking and struggling inside the expensive horse trailer. Alayna was looking forward to being here, no matter how hard the journey. This place had held a secret place in her heart since her father first brought her here. Greg lived here. As a matter of fact he was headmaster at a riding academy. He had asked Alayna to be a trainer of both horse and rider in driving, though Alayna doubted anyone would want to take lessons from her. Oh well that would be there loss then, Alayna prefered working with horses. But by far the greatest reason why she moved here was because of the man shed secretly loved all her life. Greg. Alayna looked forward to seeing the best friend shed had for so long. She knew she loved him, but she was more than willing to remain friends with him if that was what he wanted. Theyd been friends for far too long for it to be lost because of the feelings Alayna had for him. Alayna wasnt going to loose him for that.
Reaching Equiventure Alayna pulled into the training barn with little difficulty. There were a few people that turned and looked at the new trainer but for the most part they continued about their business. Alayna parked the truck and trailer, getting out and moving to the back. She had decided not to tie up the two horses in the big gooseneck, just in case they were acting up and jumped back and hurt themselves. Tristan would come out first, and fast. Alayna opened the door quickly and stepped to the side as her large tri colored stallion lurched out of the trailer. The gypsy vanner stood there for a second, looking around, nostrils flaring. But as soon as Alayna took his halter and placed a reassuring hand on his neck the stallion turned his attention on her. Those long locks covered his eyes, but he shook his head so he could see her better. Alayna laughed as barking could be heard from the living quarters of the trailer. Blu wanted out and he wanted out now. Once Alayna had Tristan calmed she tied him to the side of the trailer and walked up to let Tonto out. The gelding had stood calmly and waited patiently for Alayna to open his partition. Alayna allowed the gelding to step down, his dark bay painted coat shining in the sun. Tying him up alongside Tristan Alayna moved to the other end of the trialer and let out the blue merle australian shepherd. Alayna could tell that the dog was excited but he stood at Alaynas side and followed beside her as she led the two horses into the barn. It took only moments to find the stalls that were made for the two. Inbetween the stalls the wall had been taken halfway down, so the two could see eachother and it would keep them calm.
When the horses were settled into their stalls, everything was put away, and the horses were happily eating Alayna decided to pamper her young stud a little bit. Grabbing a soft brush Alayna walked into Tristans stall, closely followed by Blu, and began humming a little tune she had learned back home. If the stallion had any edgeness in him this little tune would calm him down in a matter of seconds. Alayna smiled as Tristan turned his massive head to nuzzle her a little bit. Alayna ran the brush along his neck, and across his back, humming the little tune and watching all of the tenseness in the stallion just melt away. Tonto turned away from his feed and nickered over at Alayna wanting some of the attention for himself. Alayna moved over to Tristans other side so that she was close to the wall. Tonto laid his massive head on Alaynas shouldar, and she scratched it with one hand. Continueing to sing Tristans lullaby as she groomed him with the other hand.
